Ramblings of a quilter.
To test for an accurate 1/4" seam:
Carefully cut 2 strips 2 1/2" x 4 1/2".
Sew the strips together using a 1/4" seam.
Press, then measure this unit to see if the sewn unit
is 4 1/2" x 4 1/2". If it is not, adjust your sewing line.
Repeat the test until the seamed strips measure a
perfect 4 1/2" x 4 1/2".
Mark the sewing line with a strip of masking tape
on your machine.
